Great American Cleanup
In April, join two million volunteers across the country and help clean up your community!  The Great American Cleanup is an annual, nationwide, community improvement campaign started by Keep America Beautiful in 1999. Each April, thousands of Georgians celebrate Keep Georgia Beautiful Month by cleaning, restoring, and beautifying their communities as part of the Cleanup. In 2005, more than 38,000 Georgians volunteered more than 145,000 hours, collecting more than 4.5 million pounds of trash from their communities! Find out more about the next Great American Cleanup and how you can join in.

Adopt-A-Highway
Georgia's Adopt-A-Highway program enlists citizen volunteer help to remove litter from state roadsides. While saving taxpayer dollars, the program provides recognition for participating companies and organizations, brings the environmental and monetary costs of littering into public awareness, and promotes civic responsibility and pride. The volunteers of the Adopt-A-Highway program serve as visible reminders to the public that we are all stewards of the land.  Learn more about how to get involved with Adopt-A-Highway.

Rivers Alive
Rivers Alive is Georgia's annual volunteer waterway cleanup event.  Last year nearly 25,000 volunteers pulled more than 684,000 pounds of litter and garbage from Georgia waterways - including tires, grocery carts, balls, cigarette butts and furniture.  This October, with your help, we can do even more.  Find a cleanup site in your area and volunteer for Rivers Alive.

Clean Community Challenge
The Clean Community Challenge gives local governments an opportunity to receive recognition for their efforts to control, abate and prevent litter.  Local governments that create programs that go "above and beyond" will be rewarded with resources to support those efforts.  Learn more about the Clean Community Challenge and how to get your community involved.
