Can Elementary Students Really Make a
Difference?
Annotation: Students will read a book entitled
Come Back, Salmon. This story describes the work of an
elementary school that cleaned up a nearby creek and

skills. This is the first lesson plan in the Make a Difference
in Your Environment unit.
Title:
Wetland Ecology Through Literature

three to read a book on water or wetland issues. They will

their book with the class. This is the second lesson plan in the
Make a Difference in Your Environment unit.
Title: Students Can Make A Difference!
Annotation: Students work together to create ways
to help the local environment. Some will choose to inform the
community. Others will choose to construct physical change. This
