You can be involved with the largest litter prevention and beautification effort ever. From March through May, join two million volunteers across the country and help clean up your community!
The Great American Cleanup is an annual, nationwide, community improvement campaign started by Keep America Beautiful in 1999. Each April, thousands of Georgian's celebrate Keep Georgia Beautiful Month by cleaning, restoring, and beautifying their communities as part of the Cleanup. Check for activities in your area.
This year we are proud to announce a statewide partnership between Keep Georgia Beautiful and Georgia Distric Kiwanis International for the Green is the New Red, White and Blue community service campaign. For more information on the Kiwanis and KGB partnership click here!
If you are a KAB Affiliate, a local government, individual or a civic group that would like to coordinate a Great American Cleanup event in your community you must:
-
Complete the registration process by February 15, 2008
- Conduct a cleanup activity during March, April or May of 2008
- Provide us with a Report Form detailing the results of your activities (number of volunteers, amount of trash collected etc.)
- Recognize all state and national sponsors for their contributions, where appropriate
- Mail us pictures, articles, publicity materials and any other ideas that may be useful to others next year
In return, we will provide items requested by you in the "Supplies" section of the registration process along with camera ready slicks of flyers and logos, and a press kit full of media ideas. These items are provided at no charge to you by the sponsors, but supplies are limited. If you have any questions, please email kportmes@dca.state.ga.us or call (404) 679-1580.
