View our LITTER. It Costs You Campaign

Litter on Georgia's Interstates and Roadways

The next time you are sitting at a stop light, take a look around.  You'll be surprised how many empty cups, losing lottery tickets and cigarette butts you'll see.

Why worry about litter?  Because it costs you.  Millions of dollars are spent picking up litter each year.  Our state's natural beauty is diminished by carelessly tossed out trash.  Items falling off trucks and cars cause needless deaths and injuries.  Litter threatens health as trash piles become homes for rats and other pests.

Cleaning up our state will require a united effort to educate people about the problem, enforce litter laws and take action to eradicate litter from our communities.  But it all starts with a single person - you.  Find out what individuals, schools, and communities can do to help clean up our state.
